Web designer
We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic web and graphic designer able to take a brief and create concepts for a wide range of clients. Our work tends to be in the commercial corporate world however we have a broad spectrum of clients meaning that the requirement of varied styles of design is commonplace.
Desired skills/experience:
- Ability to take a brief and create unique visual concepts to match
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and liaise with clients where necessary
- Ability to self-manage and self-start where required is crucial
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on an individual basis as workflow dictates
- Ability to take existing work and modify while retaining the document style
- Superb attention to detail and good grammatical/spell-checking skills is a necessity
- A solid grasp of design and typography principals is a must
- The successful applicant will have their fingers on the pulse of contemporary design and will be able to articulate at the interview stage the very latest concepts, techniques and standards in web design
- A solid portfolio of work will stand the applicant in good stead
Software & language experience:
- Photoshop, Fireworks and Dreamweaver CS4+
- An ability to code in XHTML Strict 1.0 and CSS to W3C standards is required
- An understanding of JQuery is advantageous
- An ability to use Illustrator, Freehand and Quark is advantageous
- An understanding of the concepts of web development is advantageous

Web software / application developer
The successful developer would be responsible for creating new and maintaining existing web solutions, providing email and telephone support to clients and help supporting the internal infrastructure of the company.
Desired skills/experience:
- Ability to work to W3C’s coding standards for both CSS and HTML.
- Experience using MVC patterns and open source frameworks such as CodeIgniter.
- Experience of MySQL, PHP, XHTML, Javascript, Ajax, CSS, jQuery, SEO and accessibility standards.
- Database design skills such as relational databases, stored procedures and functions.
- Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well within a team and also limited supervision.
- Knowledge of security issues faced when creating web solutions such as XSS, SQL Injection etc.
Non-essential:
- Knowledge of the Adobe/Macromedia Create Suite, namely Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Photoshop.
- Although there are public transport links to our studio, it would be beneficial if you could drive and had your own transport.
- Knowledge of handheld application development on platforms such as Windows Mobile, Blackberry (RIM), Android and the iPhone.
We are a close knit team who all get on well together. It would be ideal, although not essential if the applicant took interest in socialising with work colleagues both inside and outside of work.
